Pam Moseley
Shropshire Councillor and Shrewsbury Town Councillor for Monkmoor
I’m Pam Moseley, and I have represented the Monkmoor division of both Shropshire Council and Shrewsbury Town Council since first elected in 2013, and re-elected in 2017.
I have lived in Shrewsbury for over 21 years. My husband served in the Royal Air Force for 35 years, and continues to serve now in the RAF Reserves. My daughter is at University in Leeds, having attended Belvidere School between ages 11 to 16. When I first lived here, I worked for a short time at the former Shrewsbury and Atcham Borough Council, and then spent twelve and a half years as a volunteer advisor at Citizens Advice.
I endeavour to work hard for the residents of Monkmoor, helping to resolve individual problems, and also to make Monkmoor as safe and attractive an area as possible. This is especially challenging at a time when both central and local government cuts have affected so many aspects of public services, from highways to social services. I sit on various committees of both councils, and also am in contact with many other local organisations. I am a governor of two schools – Crowmoor Primary School and Belvidere School, and in regular contact with Belvidere Primary School.
Before and since my election in 2013, I have put out regular newsletters (apart from during the pandemic), and these go to every household. If there is a site specific issue (eg a planning application), I will also contact those residents affected. I aim to respond to residents’ enquiries very quickly, usually within 24 hours.
