Raised on a small farm in Cardington, Ted and his wife Julie settled in Bayston Hill in 1978. Their son Jack attended Long Meadow and Meole Brace and enjoyed BHCubs/Scouts and playing for the then newly formed BHJuniors football team.
Prior to retirement Ted worked with Powys Citizens Advice and regularly represented clients at County Court and Welfare Benefit Tribunal hearings. He originally worked at Bayston Hill quarry where he negotiated many improvements in terms and conditions and health/safety issues for his fellow workers.

A Bayston Hill councillor since 1994 Ted has served on both Shrewsbury and Shropshire Councils. His integrity and humour have earned him good working relations with Officers and with Councillors across the political divide. Ted was unanimously re-elected by all parties as Chair of their SC back-benchers committee.

Ted has also been an active Parish Councillor for many years, much involved in developing local sport and recreation facilities, particularly BMX for youngsters. He organised the now regular summer planter display on the Parade and the Pulley eagle carving. Ted is a stalwart campaigner for A49 highway improvements, and for Rights of Way and local Public Transport.
I work closely with my two fellow Cllrs on matters affecting our huge division and sit on various committees and community groups across our area including Mereside Centre, Belle Vue Youth Club, Tarmac quarry, Lyth Hill Country Park, BHill Library, BHill Memorial Hall, STFC local liaison.

Prior to national Lock Down I drafted/delivered frequentnewsletters and held a popular monthly drop-in surgery at BH library. I believe that Cllrs should always be readily accessible and accountable. With your support I hope to fully resume those services as/when government guidelines allow.
